As we enter the new decade, we realize more than ever the sustainability challenge our planet and our local communities face. Long past the days when riding the perfect wave or a dare-to-try kite loop were the only things that mattered.
Travelling around the globe and enjoying what planet Earth had over-generously offered, we simply felt that we have to give back by taking care of the amazing nature, culture and community that surrounds Keros.
It is a challenging task, with obstacles and failures. But we have decided to keep trying to move forward, no matter what. We are ready to commit to the extra effort and cost, in order to become greener and more sustainable. We can’t change everything at once, but we can keep changing things step by step, day by day. And that is our commitment for the next decade.
Our pledge for the next decade
We will try to reach and keep up with the standards that the EU Green deal set for the years to come.
We will respect and protect the ecosystem that we share and we will try to heal the unavoidable wounds that human interference causes.
We will keep caring even strongly for the people that live and share this environment. Our customers, our staff and the local community.
We will keep supporting gender equality with actions such as ‘Girls Camps’.
We will keep fighting social exclusion with actions such as Keros For All.
We will aid our employees with advanced skills and training, through programs such as the EU EASME Nautilus.
We will broaden and share our reach, values and benefits according to the EU standards for blue growth, as we did through EU EASME Meltemi project.
Our vision is to keep maturing as an attractive, environmentally ethical and responsible coastal tourism business unit with direct positive financial, social and environmental impact.
To make an impact, even a small one, on issues that really matter, like climate change and global warming.
To influence others and to generate awareness on the preservation of our seas and the aquaculture…

PASSING THE FLAME
Youth summer Watersports Camps
Our Youth summer watersports Camps are weekly watersports, activity and educational camps that take place at Surf Club Keros, Limnos, Greece, for kids between 8-18 years old.
Our Surfing Birds program is best designed for kids between 8-14 years of age, while our Wildcards camps for teens between 15-18 years of age.
Kids globally have less exposure to watersports and are usually caught up in a system of dull and non-inspiring activities. Our goal with these camps is to bring kids closer to nature, to watersports such as surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, to expand their social horizons, to make them more independent, and to inspire and influence them for the rest of their exciting life to come.

Over 50 Kitesurfing holidays
The ‘Over 50s’ 7-day kitesurfing and adventure holiday is designed for people that are over or around, 60, or even 70+ years old, and feel cool and energetic enough to take on some of the most fascinating sport ever: kitesurfing! Although the kitesurfing and extreme watersports community mostly consisted of young, fit adrenaline seeking junkies, often excluding other social groups, the reality is that modern equipment and teaching techniques have made kiteboarding a safe and easy sport for anyone that feels young at heart!
ΑCCESSIBLE ADAPTIVE HOLIDAYS
Keros For All kitesurfing holidays
Accessible Adaptive Kitesurfing Holiday
Keros For All is a kitesurfing holiday for people with physical disabilities. The aim of Keros For All is the obvious: To act against social exclusion and try to minimise or eliminate any physical and social barriers that wheelchair users and amputees face in the watersports industry. The sea, the beach, the sports, the fun, were not only designed for able-bodied people. Here at Surf Club Keros, we have redesigned a few things, in order to share the fun and what we do with everybody.
Live like a local. Windsurfing holidays
We want our guests to be part of our broader family, part of the local community and get in touch with the hidden gems that the island has to offer. Let us windsurf together, have fun in the water, and show you around the place that is home to us. We will be your local guides, sharing with you the Limnos we fell in love with. Through the ‘Live Like a Local’ project we want to get people in touch with the local community, way of living, products, with local Greek culture and the wonderful island of Limnos, Greece, both from sea and land. ‘Live Like a Local’ is part of our social sustainability actions.
EXPLORING NEW HORIZONS
EU FUNDED PROGRAMS
Surf Club Keros successfully initiated and completed the Meltemi project with exceptional results and deliverables. The Meltemi objectives were to cross-nationally blend watersports, tourism, hospitality services, culture, history and experiences between Greece and Turkey. The concept was to combine sailing holidays with watersports while visiting and experiencing all the above. During the 18-month period, we were able to map new, undiscovered spots for watersports, link them with cultural, gastronomical and historical experiences, while at the same time highlighting the difficulties and limitations of the project.
As a spin-off of the Meltemi project (completed end of 2019) we created ‘Riders Aboard’, a company offering kitesurfing and catamaran combo holidays in the Caribbean, Aegean, and the Maldives.
Surf Club Keros is proudly coordinator of the Nautilus program, a watersports employee training program funded by the EU. The program aims to develop an educational and certification scheme for employees in the blue growth tourism sector, creating high-end, well educated and trained employees, ready to serve in the tourism and hospitality industry. This is a 3-year research and training program that started in December 2019. Co-partners for this program is the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and TUV Austria.
ESPA is a broad funding program aiming at the renewal and upgrade of the infrastructure of Greek SMEs. The Action is co-financed by Greece and the European Union – European Regional Development Fund.
